About Us

In 2021, we took over a little nursery in Marlborough and have been lovingly renovating it bit by bit ever since. What started as a shared passion for gardening has grown into a thriving small business full of tropical fruits, indoor plants, herbs, veggies, cacti, succulents — and plenty of weird and wonderful treasures we’ve collected along the way.
Jeff’s love of gardening leans toward the edible side — chillies, fruits, herbs, and anything you can taste fresh from the garden. But every now and then, a cactus or quirky houseplant wins him over. Evelyn is drawn to indoor foliage and is always looking to expand the jungle. When her hands aren’t in potting mix, they’re usually in clay — a potter too, she creates handmade ceramics for the home and garden.
The name Rasmussen Gardens honours Jeff’s grandparents’ farm — Rasmussen Farms in Hood River, Oregon, founded in 1945. At a time when most American farms focused on the familiar, they were early adopters of the strange, rare, and wonderful — growing heirloom chillies, heritage tomatoes, different veg, and unique squash.
Thanks for visiting our little patch of green.
