Begonia imperialis
Begonia imperialis is a regal foliage species known for its dark, velvety leaves lined with silver or metallic green veins. Native to Central America, it forms a compact, low-growing clump and is prized for its dramatic contrast and texture. The leaves have a soft shimmer under light and a tactile surface that adds depth to shaded plant displays.
Ideal for terrariums, cabinets, or warm indoor spaces, this begonia thrives in stable humidity and gentle light. A collector’s favourite for its bold presence and manageable size.
PLANT CARE
• Light: Medium to bright, indirect light; no direct sun
• Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy; avoid letting it dry out completely
• Humidity: High humidity required
• Considerations: Sensitive to overwatering and temperature swings; use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix, such as our specifically designed blend for aroids and houseplants.
