Anthurium magnificum
Anthurium magnificum
Anthurium magnificum is a bold and architectural aroid from the cloud forests of Colombia, grown primarily for its exceptional foliage. Its large, heart-shaped leaves are a deep velvety green with bold white veining that stands out sharply against the dark surface. The distinctive quadrangular (four-sided) stems are another hallmark of the species, setting it apart from most other anthuriums. Growing to around 90cm indoors, it makes a strong and lasting impression as a feature plant in any bright indoor space.
A rewarding plant for collectors and aroid enthusiasts, Anthurium magnificum develops its most impressive foliage with consistent warmth, humidity, and bright indirect light.
PLANT CARE
• Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun which will scorch the velvety leaves
- Water: Keep soil lightly moist; water when the top few centimetres feel dry; avoid soggy soil
- Humidity: High humidity preferred; essential for healthy leaf development
- Considerations: Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix, such as our specifically designed blend for aroids and houseplants. Protect from cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C.
