Bhut Jolokia (Ghost) - Chocolate
Heat: Stupid Hot (900,000 SHU)
120 Days. A formidable Capsicum chinense x frutescens cross cultivated in Northeast India, Bhut Jolokia Chocolate — also known as the Chocolate Ghost Pepper — produces wrinkled, elongated pods in a striking dark chocolate-brown, slightly milder than the red variety but still among the hottest peppers in the world. Beneath the overwhelming heat lies a genuinely complex flavour profile, with smoky, fruity, and earthy notes that make it prized by hot sauce makers and chilli enthusiasts.
Plants grow up to 1.2 metres with lush green foliage and small white flowers. Performs best in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and consistent moisture.
Harvest: Pick when pods are fully dark chocolate-brown for peak heat and flavour.
Flavour: Smoky, fruity, and earthy with overwhelming heat.
