Biquinho Red
Heat: Sweet to Mild (0–500 SHU)
100 Days. A delightful Capsicum chinense from Brazil whose name translates to "little beak pepper" — a reference to the small, teardrop-shaped pods that cascade in abundance from wide-spreading plants. Biquinho has been grown in Brazil for generations and is most traditionally pickled whole and served as a table condiment alongside grilled meats and antipasto, where its sweet, fruity flavour and gentle heat make it irresistible to even the most heat-averse diners.
Bushy plants reach 70 cm tall and 1 metre wide, producing a heavy and continuous crop of bite-sized red pods throughout the season. Grow in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and consistent moisture.
Harvest: Pick when pods are fully red for peak sweetness and flavour.
Flavour: Very sweet and fruity with little to no heat.
