80 Days. A striking Capsicum annuum producing smooth, glossy, tapered pods that emerge jet black before ripening through deep burgundy to vivid red. The flavour is rich and earthy with a clean, moderate heat similar in flavour to a Czech Black but with heat — excellent fresh in salsas, sauces, and pickles.

Bushy, productive plants with dark foliage and purple flowers reach 60–90 cm and perform well in pots or garden beds in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. The near-black pods at different stages of ripeness make for a striking ornamental display throughout the season.

Harvest: Pick at the black or burgundy stage for dramatic colour, or allow to ripen fully red for peak flavour.
Flavour: Rich, earthy, and moderately hot with deep, dark chilli character.
