Cabbage Chieftain Savoy
Cabbage 'Chieftain Savoy' is a traditional savoy variety producing rounded heads of deeply crinkled, dark green leaves with a tender texture and mild, sweet flavour. It is an excellent choice for cooking, steaming, soups, and hearty winter dishes where its soft, pliable leaves hold up well to heat. A reliable and well-regarded variety that has earned its place in the home vegetable garden.
Hardy and well suited to cooler weather, 'Chieftain Savoy' thrives in full sun and fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. It performs consistently through autumn and winter in New Zealand conditions, producing firm, solid heads with good eating quality.
