Cyphomandra casana

A rare subtropical fruiting shrub and close relative of the tamarillo. Casana produces smooth, yellow, pear-shaped fruit with tangy, aromatic flesh. Grows 2–3 m tall and prefers well-drained soil, regular moisture, and protection from frost and wind. The fruit softens and deepens in colour when ripe, offering a unique addition to home orchards or edible landscapes.

PLANT CARE

• Light: Full sun to partial shade
• Water: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy
• Humidity: Prefers mild, humid climates
• Considerations: Self-fertile. Shelter from strong winds. Can be grown in large containers or garden beds. Protect from frost, especially when young.

Sold in a 15 cm pot (similar to one in photo). Suitable for container growing or planting in a sheltered spot in the garden.
