A vibrant twist on the classic cayenne, Cayenne Antho is a Capsicum annuum producing long, slender pods that display striking dark anthocyanin (purple-black) colouring as they develop before ripening fully to bright red — making for a particularly ornamental display as pods at different stages create a multicoloured effect on the plant. The flavour carries the bold, smoky heat typical of cayenne with a subtle nutty undertone.

Plants grow 70–100 cm tall and are highly productive in pots or garden beds in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. Pods reach 10–15 cm and dry down easily for long-term storage, making this an excellent variety for fresh use, drying, or grinding into chilli powder for sauces, soups, and marinades.

Harvest: Pick when pods are fully red for peak heat and flavour, or earlier while purple-black for a more piquant fresh use.
