Cucumber - Lebanese
Cucumis sativus
Lebanese Cucumber is a beloved heirloom variety with origins dating to the 12th century, producing smooth, dark green, slightly pointed fruit 14–18 cm long with thin, edible skin and crisp, almost seedless white flesh. Sweeter and milder than standard cucumbers, it is burpless, non-acidic, and easy to digest, making it one of the most popular and widely enjoyed cucumbers in the world. The skin is tender enough to eat without peeling, making it as convenient as it is delicious fresh in salads, as a snack, or sliced alongside dips.
Vigorous and heavy cropping, Lebanese Cucumber thrives in full sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soil and consistent watering. Best grown on a trellis for straight, clean fruit and good airflow. Pick regularly at 14–18 cm to keep plants productive and prevent fruit from becoming seedy and bitter.
