Dill 'Long Island Mammoth' is a towering heirloom variety and the largest of all dill cultivars, producing feathery, intensely aromatic foliage and massive seed heads up to 30 cm across on plants reaching 1.5 m tall. Bold, fragrant, and deeply flavoursome, it is the classic choice for dill pickles and home preserving, while the fresh leaves are equally excellent in salads, soups, sauces, and with fish. A genuinely impressive plant that earns its place in any herb garden for both culinary value and ornamental impact.

Direct sowing is recommended as dill dislikes transplanting. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and performs well across a long sowing window in New Zealand conditions. Removing early flower heads extends the fresh leaf harvest; leave heads to mature fully for seed collection and pickling.
