Herb - Feverfew
Tanacetum parthenium
Feverfew is a hardy perennial herb producing masses of cheerful, daisy-like white flowers with bright yellow centres on bushy, aromatic plants. Long used in traditional herbal medicine, it is widely known for its association with migraine relief and has been grown in cottage and kitchen gardens for centuries. The deeply divided, pale green leaves have a strong, distinctive scent and a bitter taste, and the plant is as attractive in the ornamental garden as it is useful in the herb garden.
Easy to grow and self-seeding freely once established, Feverfew thrives in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. It performs reliably year round in New Zealand conditions and makes an excellent border plant, edging herb, or companion plant that deters aphids and other garden pests.
