Finger Lime, Green (Citrus australasica) is a unique Australian native citrus known for its elongated fruit filled with crisp, tangy pearls often called “citrus caviar.” The fruit bursts with zesty flavour and is prized for garnishing drinks, seafood, and desserts.
This compact, thorny shrub prefers full sun and well-draining soil. Water regularly, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Apply a citrus-specific fertiliser in spring and summer to support healthy growth and fruit production. Light pruning after fruiting helps maintain size and shape.
Protect from frost, especially when young. In cooler climates, grow in a large container and move to a sheltered position or greenhouse over winter. Finger limes are slow-growing but rewarding, producing fruit once established—typically within 3–5 years.
Self-rooted.
Sold in a 2L pot (similar to one in photo).
