A remarkable Capsicum annuum with a story unlike any other — developed from seeds that spent time in orbit aboard China's Shenzhou space program, where exposure to cosmic radiation and microgravity is believed to have influenced the plant's vigour and productivity. Hangjiao 3 Solar Flare produces long, slender orange pods exceeding 15 cm with medium heat and a sweet, smoky flavour, and has since become one of China's most celebrated space-bred chilli varieties.

Vigorous and high-yielding, plants reach 90 cm and produce heavily through summer in warm, sunny conditions with fertile, well-drained soil. Excellent for cooking, drying, or grinding into powder.

Harvest: Allow pods to ripen fully to vivid orange for peak flavour and heat.
Flavour: Sweet, smoky, and medium-hot with a clean finish.
