Jimmy Nardello
Heat: Sweet (0 SHU)
85 Days. An Italian heirloom Capsicum annuum renowned for its long, glossy red pods and exceptional sweetness. Originating from the Basilicata region of southern Italy and brought to the United States in 1887 by the Nardello family, this variety has been treasured for generations for its thin-walled, richly flavoured pods. Jimmy Nardello is considered one of the finest frying peppers in the world β the pods collapse beautifully in the pan, developing a rich, caramelised sweetness.
Vigorous, productive plants yield heavily in warm, sunny conditions with fertile, well-drained soil. An outstanding variety for fresh eating, frying, or roasting.
Harvest: Pick when pods are fully deep red for peak sweetness and flavour.
Flavour: Exceptionally sweet, mild, and fruity with no heat.
