Passiflora edulis

A tropical vine producing glossy purple-black passion fruit with fragrant, golden pulp and a perfectly balanced sweet-tart flavour. Excellent for eating fresh, juicing, or desserts. Vigorous and long-lived, this variety fruits heavily once established and prefers warm, frost-free climates.

Train on a sturdy trellis or fence in full sun and fertile, free-draining soil. Regular watering and mulching promote heavy crops. Self-fertile in most conditions but improved yields with pollinators.

Growing Instructions

Start seeds indoors in warm conditions or sow outdoors in late spring once the soil has warmed. Soak seeds for 24 hours before sowing 5–10 mm deep. Keep soil moist and warm at 25–30 °C; germination may take 3–6 weeks. Water regularly and mulch well during fruiting.
