Purple Calabash Tomato Plant in 4" pot

Purple Calabash

Indeterminate - Beefsteak

85 Days. Mid-Season. Purple Calabash is an ancient heirloom with origins tracing back to the Aztecs of Mesoamerica, producing deeply ribbed, flattened fruit in striking dark purple and burgundy hues, weighing around 120–200g. The flesh is dense and fruity-sweet with a rich, complex character and hints of citrus tang — equally excellent for fresh eating, slicing, and sauces.

The plant is indeterminate, vigorous, and drought tolerant, growing to around 150–160 cm with good crack resistance and strong productivity. Stake well to support heavy fruit and enjoy a long, rewarding harvest of one of the most visually dramatic heirlooms available.

Flavour: Rich, fruity, and complex with a citrus tang.
