Purple UFO

Heat: Hot (40,000 SHU)

90 Days. A unique Capsicum annuum producing striking, flattened UFO-shaped pods 4–6 cm wide that start deep purple and mature to red. Sweet and juicy with subtle apple notes and a satisfying kick of heat — a versatile chilli as suited to fresh eating and salsas as it is to sauces and pickling.

Vigorous plants grow to around 1 metre tall with lush green foliage and heavy yields throughout the season. A real standout in pots or garden beds in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil.

Harvest: Pick at deep purple for colour, or allow to ripen fully red for peak heat and sweetness.
Flavour: Sweet, juicy, with subtle apple notes and a pleasant kick of heat.
