Rare heirloom radish grown not for its roots but for its tender, spicy seed pods. Long, slender pods resemble a rat’s tail and are crisp, juicy, and mildly pungent with classic radish flavour. Eaten raw in salads, pickled, or added to stir-fries and curries. Plants are heat-tolerant, easy to grow, and highly productive. Best harvested when pods are young and around 10–15 cm long. Grows well in full sun with rich, moist soil. Sow in early spring through late summer. Sow 5–10 mm deep, 15 cm apart. Germinates in 5–10 days. Pick frequently to encourage continued production.
