Scarlett's Chilli Variegated
Heat: Medium (20,000 SHU)
90 Days. A striking ornamental and culinary Capsicum annuum bred by Graeme Chaplin in Western Australia, developed from a cross between a Purple Tiger and a jalapeño. Scarlett's Chilli Variegated is as visually impressive as it is productive — the foliage is a vivid mix of white, purple, and green variegation, while the pods ripen through a spectacular sequence of cream, deep purple, and striped red, making each plant a standout in pots or garden beds.
Compact and bushy plants thrive in full sun with warm, well-drained soil. The pods carry a crisp, mildly hot flavour with jalapeño character — decorative enough for an ornamental display, useful enough for the kitchen.
Harvest: Pick at any stage for colour, or allow to ripen fully red for peak flavour and heat.
Flavour: Mildly hot, crisp, and peppery with a hint of jalapeño character.
