80 Days. Mid-season. Scatolone is a San Marzano type originating from the Lazio region. Name means “carton” in reference to how fruit ripens off the vine. Picked pink and stored to finish red. Fruit is large, meaty, and elongated. Excellent for cooking or preserving. Great shelf life and easy to handle. A traditional variety from near Rome.
Flavour: Rich, dense, and classic.
