Tamarind Tree (rooted in pot)

Tamarind Tree (Tamarindus indica) is a beautiful, large tropical tree native to Africa, known for its graceful canopy and distinctive fruit. The fruit forms in 10–20 cm long pods, each containing several large seeds surrounded by sticky, brown pulp with a tangy sweet-sour flavour.

The pulp is widely used in global cuisines—for flavouring sauces, chutneys, and curries—and is the base for a popular refreshing drink in Mexico.

Tamarind prefers full sun and well-draining soil. It is frost tender when young but can tolerate light frosts once well established. Water regularly during dry periods, especially in its first few years. Suitable for container growing in cooler areas where it can be overwintered indoors.

Sold in a 10 cm pot (similar to one in photo).
