Celery Chinese White
Celery 'Chinese White' is a traditional Asian variety producing slender, white stalks with leafy tops, a crisp texture, and a strong, aromatic flavour more intense than standard Western celery. Smaller and more delicate in habit, it is commonly used in stir-fries, soups, and braised dishes where its savoury depth adds real character to Asian-inspired cooking. A versatile and quick-maturing variety that tolerates a range of growing conditions in the home garden.
Easier to manage than large-stalked Western varieties, 'Chinese White' prefers full sun and fertile, consistently moist, well-drained soil. It performs well across spring and late summer sowings in New Zealand conditions, maturing reliably and rewarding growers with a useful and flavoursome crop.
